Look, nobody likes to fail -- that isn't really a goal people have when the set out, but in the real world (and probably even more so in the theoretical one) people fail all the time. The idea that you can go through life being "perfect" (if that is defined as not ever failing) is both unrealistic and impossible. Failing (however you define that), learning from the experience and then moving on is a critically important part of life. In reality you are already a perfect you. Take intellectual risks-- be willing to get rejected. If something doesn't go according to plan, revise the plan and move on wiser than you were before.
